A Four element rectangular patch antenna array has been designed for the Amateur Radio applications in the S band with an operating frequency of 2.4GHz. The four patches are been connected to each other using a power divider circuit which allows equal flow of power to all the elements. Flame retardant glass epoxy is taken as substrate material which is having a thickness of 1.6mm and a 50Ω strip feed has been used to excite the antenna. The power form the single excitation source will be divided for all the four radiating elements using the equal split power divider network. The overall dimension of the antenna is 240mm×60mm×1.6mm. The Proposed antenna is having an gain of 6.18dB at the operating frequency of 2.4GHz. The directivity of the antenna at the operating frequency is 10.34dB. Commercially available 3D simulator Ansys HFSS software has been used to design the proposed antenna.
